The Cabo de Gata (Almeria) area is located in south-eastern Spain, and forms part of the Betic Cordillera. The study area corresponds to the small coastal aquifer of Cabo de Gata,which has a surface area only 16 Km2. It is delimited to the east by volcanic rocks of the Sierra of Cabo de Gata, to the west, by the Carboneras Fault,and to the south, by the Mediterranean Sea.
